Loretta Gibbons
Loretta Gibbons, a two-time winner of the Hazel Lair Children’s Fiction Award, is a former educator who took her inspiration from the countless books and Shakespearean plays she shared with her students. Loretta earned a Bachelor of Science from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee and Masters and Rank I degrees in education from Georgetown College in Kentucky.
Loretta’s writing endeavors include board books, picture books, and early chapter books. She is a member of Licking River Writers and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. When she isn’t writing, she spends time browsing the children’s literature section of her community library and learning Spanish. She is currently working on a children’s chapter book. Loretta resides in the beautiful bluegrass area of Kentucky.
